Found painted in gloss and close to being discarded, this small dairy stool had lost much of its natural character beneath a hard, tired surface.
The restoration has been simple and respectful. Layers of paint were carefully stripped away by hand, revealing the warmth and honesty of the wood beneath. Finished with sustainable lime wax, the stool now feels softer, calmer, and full of quiet charm.
Humble in scale and rich in character, it works beautifully beside a chair, beneath a stack of books, or as a small surface for a favourite object.
